North Dakota bill to authorize ignition interlock device

The North Dakota Legislature is considering a new bill that might restore those individuals' ability to drive by authorizing the installation of an ignition interlock device. The Grand Forks Herald reported that North Dakota's House Bill 1164 proposes the use of ignition interlock devices as a substitute for the current 24/7 program.

Luring of minors as a sex offense in North Dakota

Increasing numbers of people are on the Internet, and some use the platform to reach out to other people they do not know. Although people may feel that the Internet, cellphones and other types of electronic media provide a degree of anonymity to their actions, when such platforms are used by an adult to entice or lure minors into sexual situations, the adult can quickly find him or herself in trouble.

Can teenagers be charged with a crime for sexting?

North Dakota residents whose teenage children have been arrested after sexting incidents may have questions about why their children are facing charges. While most criminal codes do not address sexting, it is possible that teenagers under 18 may be accused of child pornography charges.

Man accused of sexual assault

On Dec. 27, local police released a statement requesting the public's assistance in identifying a man allegedly involved in a sexual assault that occurred at an off-campus North Dakota State University apartment. According to local reports, a man with a knife walked onto the apartment grounds and ordered three women to take off their clothes on Dec. 20. Tips from the public indicated that a 39-year-old Cass County resident may be a person of interest.
