Two weeks after a man attempted to cash a fake check for over $2,000 at Northland Financial, police in Bismarck, North Dakota, arrested him and his wife. Police said the 47-year-old man was using a stolen vehicle. They charged his wife with harboring a fugitive, and the couple was placed in the Burleigh County Detention Center.
Man on pretrial release charged with violation
A North Dakota man who is currently waiting for his trial on charges related to two drug overdose deaths reportedly violated the conditions of his pretrial release. The 20-year-old Grand Forks man was taken into custody for the alleged violation.
Man charged with stealing car from casino
The North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Mountrail County Sheriff's Department were reportedly both involved in a high-speed chase after a man allegedly stole a vehicle from a casino. The incident occurred on March 12.
Police take 2 into custody after drug seizure
The North Dakota Highway Patrol seized 136 pounds of marijuana from a car on Interstate 94 near Steele at about 1 p.m. on March 1. The car had Idaho license plates, and a trooper's suspicions were cited as the reason why the vehicle was searched. A 22-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were inside of the car at the time of the traffic stop and were taken into custody.
3 indicted in North Dakota on drug charges related to overdoses
Federal prosecutors revealed indictments against three young men in February. They say the three and others conspired to possess and distribute drugs in relation to a total of five overdoses that caused serious bodily injury and death.
