North Dakota man facing drug charges after disrupting hotel

A North Dakota man was taken into police custody on July 12 after he was accused of causing a disturbance at the hotel where he had been staying. According to the report, the 22-year-old man was accused of running through the hallways in his underwear while screaming at 3:39 a.m.

The officers reported that when they arrived at the hotel, which is located in Bismarck, they allegedly found the man on the second floor. They claimed that he was shouting words that were not intelligible and that he was covered in sweat. The responding officers also claimed that it took four officers to take the man into custody as he allegedly attempted to fight back.

A hotel guest stated that the man had taken LSD. Ultimately, the defendant was charged with drug-related offenses that included ingesting a controlled substance and disorderly conduct-preventing arrest.

Those charged with drug possession may face serious penalties that could include a lengthy jail sentence, probation and expensive fines. The severity of the consequences usually depends upon the type of drug the accused person was allegedly in possession of and if they have had any prior convictions.

An attorney may be able to provide a strong defense for their client. In some cases, the attorney may be able to show evidence that their client was not using the alleged illegal drug but was actually using a prescription medication that had caused negative side effects. The attorney may also be able to have the potential consequences reduced by having their client enter into a rehabilitation program prior to being court-ordered to attend.
