Police in Fargo recently arrested the four people they believe are responsible for beating a man. They are all facing aggravated assault charges for their alleged involvement. The consequences of a conviction on such a charge can be significant.
According to reports, the assault occurred Nov. 30, around 1:30 p.m., at 809 10th Street South. Witnesses to the event say they saw a man being attacked by several individuals. They also say a bat and ax were used in the beating. Video of the incident is said to show the victim — whose identity has not been reported — being held to the ground and unable to escape. When all was said and done, the victim was transported to an area hospital for the treatment of unspecified injuries.
By Dec 1., authorities arrested two females — ages 29 and 40 — and two males — ages 67 and 41. Aggravated assault charges were filed due to the alleged use of weapons during the apparent brawl. At this time, it is unclear when each individual will have their case heard in court.
Charges of aggravated assault are not something these individuals will want to treat lightly. In Fargo and elsewhere, consequences, if convicted, can include significant fines and incarceration, among other things. In other words, a conviction could be life-changing. As with any criminal case, there is more than one side to this story. While there currently is a lot that is unknown about this incident, in time and with the assistance of counsel, more information will come to light that may help each of the accused as they defend themselves, defend their rights and fight for the best possible outcomes.
