Is it possible to outwit the ignition interlock device?

If law enforcement arrested you for drunk driving in the state of Minnesota, you could face jail time and a fine of up to $3,000 just for a first offense. You could also lose your driving privileges for a year or agree to the installation of an ignition interlock device on your vehicle.

North Dakota bill to authorize ignition interlock device

The North Dakota Legislature is considering a new bill that might restore those individuals' ability to drive by authorizing the installation of an ignition interlock device. The Grand Forks Herald reported that North Dakota's House Bill 1164 proposes the use of ignition interlock devices as a substitute for the current 24/7 program.

24/7 program aimed at preventing repeat DUI offenses

There are a lot of discussions about the best ways to encourage repeat DUI offenders to avoid further offenses in North Dakota and around the United States. Some states utilize ignition interlock devices, which require drivers to blow an alcohol-free test result before allowing them to start their cars. Judges in some states have moved to have these devices installed in the cars of repeat DUI offenders.
